Beetroot hummus with homemade spelt crackers

As  a person, who frequently hosts parties or always has some friends over, I know how important it is to always have some snacks around. So If you are like me and you are searching for an easy, healthy and fast recipe that will level up your snack game and impress your guests, than this one is perfect for you. Not only that it looks amazing, but it also tastes delicious.

Beetroot hummus:

1 can of chickpeas

2 boiled beetroots

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp paprika

1 table spoon sesame tahini

1 tsp salt

1 lemon

1 garlic clove

Spelt crackers

1 ¼ cup spelt flour (regular wholewheat could also work)

½ cup sesame seeds

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp salt

50g olives

8 tbsp olive oil

Water

What to do?

To make the crackers, you have to mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl, add the olive oil to them, stir and add water until you get a dough that can be mixed. Roll it onto a suitable surface until it is 3-4 mm thick and cut in to square form pieces. Sprinkle with a little salt and bake in a preheated oven for about 18-20 minutes. While waiting for your crackers, you can start preparing your hummus. Put all the ingredients in blender/mixer and blend until smooth. If you think that the consistency is too dense, add some of the chickpea water and blend again.  When the crackers are ready, wait for them to cool for 5-10 minutes and serve.
