Lemon turmeric raw balls

Yesterday I was feeling a bit down and wanted to treat myself with something sweet. Unfortunately, I’m trying to restrict my sugar and chocolate intake because it has not been effecting my skin very positively. Inspired by a cake that my best friend surprised me for birthday, I came up with these energy bowls. They are very easy and quick to put together and are also very nutritious. Since being at home for so long and not enough physically active, we all need a healthy booster to keep us going. The reason why I call them energy balls is because they contain both turmeric and lemon which are known for their beneficial effect on the immune system. Also the almonds are a great source of protein, especially if you are following a plant-based diet and the dates act as a natural brain booster and help regulate blood sugar. To sum it up this snack option is not only a delicious alternative for our sweet munchies but also it is good for our overall health(of course taken in moderate quantities).

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of dates

1/4 cup raw almonds

1/4 cup coconut power

1 tsp. Turmeric

Zest of 1 lemon

1/2 lemon juice

What to do?

The only thing you need to do is blend all of the ingredients listed above in food processor until they form a thick paste. Afterwards form the mixture into mini balls and cover with chopped almonds, coconut flakes or just leave them like that. They will be equally as delicious.
